VACATIONS are Here !!! Skin Care during Travels and Holidays

Summer is blooming and as the temperature is rising, so is our urge to go on vacation. Vacations are rejuvenating, spending time with family, doing physical activity, getting some vitamin D is necessary, but taking care of your skin is equally important in this sweltering heat. It’s very easy for your skin care to get disturbed when away from home, but this is the time when our skin needs most attention. So, by taking care of some tips, you can have wonderful skin in Vacations.

·        Sunscreen

First and foremost, whenever going out in sun apply sunscreen. This should be applied thoroughly in thick layer on all exposed body parts. Try to choose sunscreen which has SPF of 15 or higher and provide protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Take doctors consultation before applying sunscreen on Infants who are 6 months or less. As sunscreens waive off easily so make sure to reapply if you stay out for more than 2 hours or after swimming, excessive sweating or after washing your face.

·        Stay Hydrated

Try to keep yourself hydrated all the time; this will not only save your skin but also uplift your mood. Try having 2 litres water a day (use filter water to avoid stomach issue while travelling). It is better if you start staying hydrated a week before vacation as your body will be habitual. Having coconut water or fruit juices is also a good option. Also apply lip balm or ointments to keep your lips hydrated.

·        Carry your Skincare products

If you have a set skincare routine and you know which products works for your skin best than it is better to carry them along, in this way your skin need not adjust with new products. Little bottles of lotions and soaps provided by hotels may not be good for you as they contain fragrances and preservative which may react to your skin. You can also transfer your cleanser or moisturizer to travel size bottles, but avoid doing that with serums or face oils as they may need specific conditions, as Vitamin C needs cool and dark place therefore it comes it dark colour bottles.

·        Use Sheet Mask or facial Mask

Pamper your skin with sheet mask or face mask when ever you get time. This will help your skin to relax from day long exposure and stay hydrated. Using Face mist is also a great option which is very convenient, this will provide you with instant freshness.

·        Clothing

Try wearing comfortable long sleeves clothes and long pants or skirts. Try to use hats or umbrella for extra protection from sun. Also use sunglasses to protect your eyes and tender soft skin around it from UV radiations. Avoid direct sun exposure as much you can. Sunglasses that block both UVA and UVB rays are best of vacations.
